Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BandUp iOS application, published by Approtic ("we", "us"). By downloading or using BandUp, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. The service

BandUp is an independent study aid for English-language and IELTS preparation. Band scores produced in the app are automated estimates for study purposes only; they are not official IELTS results and do not guarantee any particular outcome on a real test.

2. Not affiliated with IELTS

BandUp is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the IELTS partners — the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, or Cambridge University Press & Assessment. "IELTS" and related marks are the property of their respective owners and are used here only for descriptive, nominative purposes.

3. Accounts

You may use BandUp as a guest or sign in with Apple. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your device secure.

4. Subscriptions and payments

• BandUp Premium is offered as an auto-renewable subscription (monthly or annual), billed through your Apple App Store account.
• Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Any free trial automatically converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Apple's standard Licensed Application End-User License Agreement also applies.
• Prices are shown in the app and may vary by region and over time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, including: reverse-engineering or attempting to extract source code or API keys; using the app to violate any law; or interfering with its security or operation.

6. Your content

Essays and text you submit remain yours. You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the feedback and features you request, as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimers

BandUp is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that AI-generated feedback is accurate, complete, or will improve your test score.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Approtic shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app.

9. Termination

You may stop using BandUp at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or misuse the service.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Courts located in India shall have jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer-protection law provides otherwise.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
